HOMEGROWN SERIES 01

A new voice here today. Hi, I’m Mansi—and aside from being Mitali’s sidekick at Chalo, I’m also her sister. 

You’ve probably heard Mitali describe Chalo as a homegrown brand many times. And this is because it truly is, in so many ways. All of our products are made at our family-owned factory in Kanpur, which also happens to be our childhood home that we visit for several months every year.

Beyond this though, there’s many other ways in which we’re homegrown. Even though you’re hearing from me for the first time today, chances are you've seen me around. In my sidekick role at Chalo, I also serve as lead model (voluntarily or not ).

What's it like to model for Chalo? AKA...your sister?

Haha, great question! Mitali and I usually spend our winters in Kanpur and here is what happens literally every week:

• Mitali bugs me at least twice a week to model so she can get some more photos for you all.
• I ignore, defer, delay as much as I can, but she gets her way, each time. She’s convincing!
• We ransack our closets to look for our outfits.
• As soon as golden hour strikes, at the expense of our mom's sanity, we whirlwind through the house trying to find corners to get some good snaps.

Mitali is not easy to please—the poses I've held at length for her (hello, strong core and quads), the circles I've run around our terrace (hello, cardio) and the up and down the home staircase for the different backgrounds (hello, glutes)—my workout routine has quietly become "whatever Mitali needs" !

But here's what I've learned along the way:

Mitali is pouring her heart and soul into Chalo to bring you the best possible boots and to communicate the core of our story. And, I'm so happy to be a part of it. Yes, I complain all the time, but in the end, we get to be sisters having fun as we bring Chalo to you.
