MEET THE FOUNDER

That's me, in my father's cowboy boots!

Circa: 90s

OUR STORY

In the early 90s, my father (nicknamed "Waldo" because he’s always MIA!) opened a small leather factory in North India that made cowboy boot uppers–the distinct, decorative "upper" portion of cowboy boots. Cowboy boots became a part of Waldo, my family, and heritage ever since. Many people perceive cowboy boots as working or riding boots: footwear that is worn by grown-up men riding horses in the Midwest and Southern regions of America. But, I’ve also grown up wearing cowboy boots everywhere, and seen them being styled and adapted to many occasions.

At Chalo, we combine traditional cowboy boot designs with a modern touch so that they can be more versatile in form and function, fit for your daily life.

My favorite pair of cowboy boots are passed down from my sister and are over a decade old. These strong, unique beauties are proudly made in India.
